9.23.08, Woodside apt. midnight. I decided to old-school it…back to the high school favorite xanga blogs because although I live in this really awesome universe at work, I feel cut off from the rest of the world because I don’t have access to facebook at work…I rarely get home early enough to log into my patience-testing-snail-speed-of a computer and because I recently misplaced my cell and the many many contact numbers that were in it. Plus, whenever I have downtime, I can permanently keep my thoughts and maybe one day print all the blog entries into a book rather than deleted the 1 sentence “what am I doing” message whenever I update on facebook. AND…AND, my Mom is an amazing blog writer. She has anywhere from 1,000-3,000 people visiting her blog PER DAY…like whoa. Korean people LOVE her stuff, and she writes well….so even if the writing skills aren’t in my blood, I might as well be at least technologically saavy as mi madre. Ok- so. First with work. What is it like? Who do I work with? Think of funniest guys you know. Imagine that one is from Denmark, Ghana, Mexico, Japan, Austrailia, South Carolina….and there- you got the core group of people I work with. Then add some super nice chicks and you got a seriously entertaining, work-friendly team. Man, I think I even laugh more often than I did in college….is that possible? Speaking of college, I remember in college asking Pastor IJ-I think freshman year….”I know humor goes a long way….so what’s the best way for me to become a funnier person?”….hahah in more elegant phrasing….and his answer was: “hang out with funny/hilarious people”…..and you know what, I think it’s so true. It’s only been 2 months with these guys and I can already tell…maybe not in writing but in my verbal commentary. Hhhmmm I may not be that funny but I was also silly….and that makes my work brothers laugh….and if people I think are funny laugh when I say something, I see that as a good thing. So these guys: TC (from Denmark), KA (Ghana), AO (Mexico), KH (Japan), NM(Austrailia), MC (South Carolina) make work seem so much fun. And they are like all the brothers I always wanted. If any guy even thinks about breaking my heart, these guys will pummel his bun-bun….or at least say they will and mean it. So I randomly bumped into my high school best friend, Connie at Spa World. She was with her parents and current roommate…..hahha I had her mom cut me some bangs! After 8 years of thinking about it…I got some legitimate bangs….for the first three days, I didn’t like them so I kept putting them up-and it’s mostly my fault for not know how to blow dry them correctly But right now-as I type…they’re perfect. So I’m going to wear them down tomorrow…very proudly Oh-and I have heard 3 people say I look good in glasses. Ha! Never thought I’d see the day. Not sure if it’s out of politeness or because it’s something different and they feel the need to comment…but I tried it for a few days. Definitely a new look-but going back to contacts for now. I think that’s it for tonight. I facebook messaged like 4 people and I feel as if I accomplished so much because of how long it takes to post. But I also did my first big client presentation (hosting, organizing, putting the book together). It was from 9-5 just to give you an idea of how much work it was….so yes, I accomplished much. AND I got a massage (yeah muslces ache from work). So in terms of work, social life, and personal needs, I accomplished a mucho amount today. Hahah yay -Later oh, and if you happen to read this, update me, yeah? |
